LAL Offers a reliable Standard Transfers service every Sunday from major airports in and around London. This service is described in detail below.

Please note that Standard Transfers must be booked, with full flight details for arrival and departure as appropriate, at least three weeks before the student's arrival.

We offer our Standard Transfer 'Meet & Greet' for students who arrive and depart on Sundays within the following times

Flights Arriving at   

Heathrow between 0800 and 2000
Gatwick between 0800 and 2000
Stansted between 0800 and 2000
Luton between 0800 and 2000

... and trains arriving at St Pancras (Eurostar Terminus) between 0900 and 2000

Flights Departing from

Heathrow between 0800 and 2000
Gatwick between 0800 and 2000
Stansted between 0800 and 2000
Luton between 0800 and 2000

... and trains departing from St Pancras (Eurostar Terminus) between 0800 and 2000

Students will wait for their allotted taxi, coach, minibus or other transport to Twickenham.

When the students are first met, the staff will tell them at what time their transport from the airport will depart, and arrange a meeting point where the students should assemble nearer the transfer time.

• We expect the journey from Heathrow to Twickenham to take about 40 minutes.
• We expect the journey from Gatwick to Twickenham to take about an hour.
• We expect the journey from Luton or Stansted to Twickenham to take about 1 and a half hours.
• We expect the journey from St Pancras to take about an hour.

Yes. Any suitcase or bag cannot exceed 20kg in weight and students should bring no more than two suitcases in addition to hand or cabin baggage. These restrictions are specifically to allow students' luggage to be stowed safely in the limited storage space of our transfer coaches.

All Students must have their name and the school's address clearly marked on all their luggage and written again on a sheet of paper on top of their items within each bag.

Lots of bags look the same, and it is easy to pick up the wrong bag at the airport if it is not clearly labelled. Due to airline regulations, a client who picks up the wrong suitcase will have to go back to the airport to return it personally: this would be at the client's expense. If someone else picks up your baggage, it may never be seen again.

Travelling to Twickenham by public transport

The nearest railway station to LAL London is Twickenham, about five minutes from the school on foot. There are regular trains to London Waterloo from here, with underground connections to Waterloo from all other London stations, and also frequent trains to Clapham Junction for connections to the south-east of England.

• From Heathrow you can take the Underground (Picadilly line) to Hatton Cross East, then a bus to Twickenham station.
• From Gatwick you can take a train to Clapham Junction, then change onto a train to Twickenham.
• From Stansted and Luton you will need to take a coach or train to London, and cross London by Underground to Waterloo for a train to Twickenham.
• From St Pancras, take the Underground to Waterloo, then a train to Twickenham.

From Twickenham station, turn left outside the ticket office and cross the bridge on London Road. Continue straight on over the traffic lights. LAL London is about 200 metres along London Road on the right, in Allied House, next to the police station.
